Steve Reardon

Steve became an elder in 2020 and is committed to teaching the Word of God. He and his wife Louise have been members of Caversham Community Church for nearly 40 years and have two children and two delightful grandchildren. Steve leads an inductive Bible study as well as being involved in the teaching on Sunday mornings. He has been particularly focused on the Trinity in his own study. He has an interest in landscape and astro-photography. One of his favourite verses is Jeremiah 9:23: "Let not the wise man boast of his wisdom, the strong man boast of his strength, or the rich man boast of his riches, but let him who boast boast about this: that he knows and understands me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, declares the Lord."

Jeff Coleman

Jeff became an elder in 2020 and is passionate about disciple making and passing on the Christian faith successfully to the next generation. He and his wife Averil have five young children. In addition to serving as elder, Jeff leads a Dunedin-based ministry called Firm Foundation New Zealand, which partners with New Zealand churches and ministries in the areas of disciple making, conversational evangelism, inductive Bible study, expository Bible teaching, and biblical worldview training. Jeff grew up in Salina, Kansas, USA, and is a New Zealand permanent resident. In his spare time, Jeff enjoys reading, gardening, tramping, and playing the piano. His favourite Bible verse is Matthew 28:19: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...."

"Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood." - Acts 20:28

Di Davies

Di is from Liverpool, England, where she was raised in an abusive household, which translated into her career path of social work and addictions. As a person who loves to try new things, she has also managed a business growing herbs and microgreens for four years. She is now retired. She has been married for 44 years to Ed and has two adult children and two grandchildren. One of Di's ministry passions is for prisoners and their families. She is an assistant chaplain on the chaplaincy team at the Otago Correctional Facility in Milburn and serves as the Dunedin area coordinator for Angel Tree. Di also has a passion for Israel and is involved with two groups that host Israeli travellers. Any spare time is taken up with Bible studies, communicating with family members around the world, and maintaining friendships through coffee.

Marj grew up in the Netherlands (in fact her real name is Marjolein). She came to New Zealand when she was 18 and shortly after that became a Christian. She studied medicine at Otago University and is currently working as a GP.  She is married with 3 grown children. Marj has a passion for pastoral care, counselling, apologetics, and researching sound biblical doctrine. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, music, and art. Her favourite verse is Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

"Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counsellors there is safety." - Proverbs 11:14
